WEATHER FORECAST

Snow is on the way and will move into the metro by 9 p.m. this evening and exit west to east early tomorrow morning.  Snowfall amounts will have a wide range across the metro from northwest to southeast.  Right now it appears that areas like Maple Grove could see 1"-3" but then in the south and east, from Burnsville up through Stillwater, could see 4"-7" by tomorrow morning.  In addition to the snowfall, winds will increase tonight and stay strong through tomorrow afternoon with gusts up to 40 and even 50 mph possible.   This is going to create white-out conditions due to blowing snow across western and southern Minnesota.  Expect to see road closures in open areas through tomorrow due to impassable roads.  Lastly, I-94 towards Madison may even shut-down for awhile tonight and tomorrow as there could be pockets of a foot of snow along with the blowing snow.
