Service held for Deshaun Hill Jr. in Minneapolis

A memorial service was held Tuesday for Deshaun Hill Jr. at North Central University in downtown Minneapolis.
Hill, 15, was shot and killed on Feb. 9 just before 12:30 p.m. near North Penn Avenue and Golden Valley Road.

Hill played football and basketball at North High School and was on the school’s honor roll.
Family and friends recalled Hill’s importance to the community and mourned his death.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned a man accused of fatally shooting Hill was arrested and charged with murder, court records show.

Cody Fohrenkam, 29, faces one count of second-degree murder in connection with Hill’s death.
Fohrenkam was booked into Hennepin County Jail on Friday and is being held on bail of $1 million. His first court appearance is set for Wednesday afternoon.
