2022 Gophers volleyball schedule released

The University of Minnesota volleyball program’s full 2022 schedule has been revealed.

The nonconference slate was announced last month but the Gophers now also know the schedule for conference play.

Minnesota will open league action on Sept. 23 at Purdue before hosting the defending national champion Wisconsin Badgers at Maturi Pavilion on Sept. 25.

The Gophers close the season with four straight road games, starting with a Friday/Saturday back-to-back at Penn State and Rutgers, then Thanksgiving weekend trips to Ohio State and Nebraska.

Minnesota returns eight athletes who started matches in last year’s run to the NCAA Regional Final.

In total, the Gophers will play 16 teams that finished in last year’s AVCA Top 25 and seven against AVCA Top 10 teams. Additionally, 19 of last year’s NCAA Tournament teams will face the Gophers this season, including 12 Sweet 16 teams.
