The woman who was found dead Friday morning in Robbinsdale has been identified as 48-year-old Lauri Anne Deatherage of Robbinsdale.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, she died due to a gunshot wound to the head.

According to Robbinsdale Police, officers were called to the area of 35th Avenue and Grimes Avenue for a welfare check at 9:15 a.m.

After entering a home, officers found Deatherage, who was dead.

Police said the death has ruled a homicide and doesn't appear to be random.

Just after 9 p.m., officers from several agencies worked together and took a suspect into custody in Brooklyn Center, the department said. Brooklyn Center Police said the arrest was made after 10 hours of negotiations with the suspect, who was inside a home in the 6200 block of Unity Avenue.

No other details were immediately available.
