Investigators from two Washington County law enforcement agencies continued on Monday to work theft cases from vehicles parked outside of five day care centers from late last week.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said vehicles at three Hugo child care centers were broken into Thursday morning around 8 a.m., with some windows smashed or doors opened with purses and bags reported stolen.
A short time later, White Bear Lake Police took theft reports from people parked at two day care facilities.
Similar descriptions of a suspect vehicle, a dark SUV, authorities said have been reported.
Growing Generations on Victor Hugo Boulevard shared with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS security video they said captured a dark, large GMC SUV, allegedly taking a bag from a parent’s vehicle on Thursday morning.
Investigators are confident the thieves are working in groups and remind parents at child care drop-offs to take valuables with them even in locked vehicles.
Anyone who can help law enforcement identify the suspects is urged to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office or White Bear Lake Police Department.
