Body recovered from Mississippi River in southeast Minneapolis

A body was recovered from the Mississippi River on Sunday in Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said around 4:15 p.m., Water Patrol deputies were called for assistance in recovering a body from the river near East 44th Street and West River Parkway.
The body will be turned over to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner for identification and to determine how the body got in the river.
The sheriff's office said the investigation is in its early stages and there is little information to go on at this time.
