Wisconsin police officer charged in fatal off-duty crash
A northwestern Wisconsin police officer has now been formally charged in connection to a fatal crash while he was off-duty last week.
According to Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate WDIO-TV, Superior Police Sgt. Gregory Swanson is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Police say Swanson, 42, rear-ended a vehicle on Second Street at around 1:15 a.m. Friday, killing the vehicle’s 23-year-old driver and injuring two others. He was arrested and put on administrative leave.
Swanson’s cash bail was set at $15,000 and his next hearing is scheduled for July 26, WDIO reports. Online court records show Swanson posted his bond Monday.
The station added that prosecutors are leaving open the possibility for more charges against Swanson in the future.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol are handling the investigation.
