The warming spaces, listed below, will be open nightly until March 31:

Meanwhile, the Salvation Army announced Wednesday morning that its Harbor Light emergency shelter will have an extra 40 beds available during the next few nights due to overnight temperatures expected to be below zero.

According to Minnesota’s Weather Authority, temperatures will be dropping throughout the day Wednesday to the single digits, with wind chills reaching the teens below zero. By Thursday morning, temperatures will be below zero, and the wind chill could drop to -20 at times. Daytime temperatures on Thursday are expected to be in the single digits above zero. The latest forecast can be found HERE.

The organization says its overflow beds will be available every night starting Jan. 1 through Feb. 28.

Anyone who needs emergency overnight shelter is asked to call the Adult Shelter Connect at 612-248-2350.

Additionally, St. Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church (Oxford Street North) will open on Sunday for families and youth up to 24 years old.

The law enforcement center at 425 Grove Street will be open as a warming space from 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Winter warming spaces will have seating, blankets and light snacks for those spending the night. There will also be mittens and hats when available.

The county says there will also be free shuttles to and from the warming spaces.

This comes after 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS reported last week that the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office opened its lobby as the warming centers were not yet open.
