Medical examiner says Mankato woman drowned
Authorities have confirmed that a body found near Eagle Lake was that of a missing Mankato woman.
Mankato Public Safety said 30-year-old Nyawuor Chuol was last seen at around 7 p.m. on April 25. She was later spotted on surveillance cameras about two hours later at a Casey’s gas station in Eagle Lake.
On May 13, the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body from a swamp near Eagle Lake. The sheriff’s office confirmed Tuesday that through DNA testing, the body was identified as Chuol’s.
Additionally, the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office didn’t find any significant injuries or trauma on Chuol’s body, adding her death has been ruled a probable drowning.
