82-year-old Stearns County man dies from house fire

An 82-year-old Freeport, Minnesota man dies inside a house fire.
According to Stearns County Sheriff's Office, at 9 a.m. on Friday, deputies were responding to callers who reported smoke coming from a house and believed the homeowner was still inside.
Once deputies and the fire department arrived, the house was on fire and became fully engulfed shortly after.
According to a sheriff, the fire was extinguished, but the homeowner Harvey Mayers was found inside the house dead.
The fire is still under investigation. No one else was injured during the incident.
