Former MPD officer Thomas Lane released from jail on conditional bail

Wednesday, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s jail roster, a former Minneapolis police officer charged in connection to the murder of George Floyd was released on conditional bail.
Thomas Lane, who is facing charges of unintentional aiding and abetting second-degree murder as well as aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter, was released from custody at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday.
According to court records, former officers Tou Thao and J Alexander Kueng, who are each also facing charges of unintentional aiding and abetting second-degree murder as well as aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter, remained in jail.

Lane, Thao and Kueng each had their bail set at $1 million without conditions or $750,000 with conditions.
Derek Chauvin is facing second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges in the death of Floyd on Memorial Day. He also remained in custody as of Wednesday.
Lane’s next court appearance will be on June 29.
