Additional officers charged in George Floyd's death make first court appearance, bail set at $1M

The three additional officers who were charged in connection to the death of George Floyd made their first appearance in court Thursday afternoon.

According to court records, 37-year-old Thomas Lane, 34-year-old Tou Thao and 26-year-old J Alexander Kueng are each facing charges of unintentional aiding and abetting second-degree murder as well as aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

Bail for each was set at $1 million without conditions and $750,000 with conditions.

Floyd died on Memorial Day after being taken into custody by police. Video that circulated following the death showed former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin with his knee on Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes.

Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in connection to Floyd's death.
