Former MPD officer Kueng files motion to dismiss charges related to George Floyd’s death
One of the former Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd is asking for the charges against him to be dismissed.
According to a filing Wednesday, J Alexander Kueng’s attorney will ask the court to dismiss the charges, saying they aren’t supported by a probable cause.

Kueng, along with former officers Tou Thao and Thomas Lane, is charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter. Former officer Derek Chauvin has been charged with unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
The motion will be considered on Sept. 11, the same date that Tou Thao’s motion to dismiss will be heard.
