I’ve been around sports all my life, from playing to covering them. I still get goosebumps while on the sidelines at a game and it fuels my passion. Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.

Previous Experience:
Alec joined 5 Eyewitness News in May of 2022 as a sports reporter. This is Alec’s second stint working in Minnesota. Previously he was the weekend sports anchor at WDIO-TV in Duluth. Alec has also worked in sports departments in Madison, WI and Wichita, KS and Bismarck, ND.

Education:
Alec holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from St. Cloud State University.

Memorable Stories:
Alec has covered several major sporting events in his career – his two favorite have been the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA and the NCAA Final Four/National Championship in 2022 in New Orleans.

Personal Interests:
Alec is a Minnesotan and grew up in Hinckley. He loves a Minnesota summer, but occasionally enjoys shoveling snow. The Twins are his favorite pro-sports team. He missed their 1991 World Series win by six days and is patiently waiting for them to win another one during his lifetime.
