A Plymouth man was found dead Saturday afternoon after an apparent drowning at William O’Brien State Park north of Marine on St. Croix.
The victim, who has been identified as 46-year-old Chandramohan Loghuvaran, was playing with his kids in the St. Croix River when he bent down and somehow never came up, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Rescue teams responded to the incident just after 4 p.m., and his body was recovered about an hour later in 8 feet of water. Medics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Loghuvaran’s body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
