Man charged in death of Monique Baugh arrested in Illinois

A man who has been charged and indicted in connection to the death of a Minneapolis realtor on New Year's Eve has been arrested.

Berry Davis has been wanted on murder and kidnapping charges in connection to the death of Monique Baugh since January. Minneapolis Police said Thursday that Davis was arrested in Illinois last week.

Baugh was found with multiple gunshot wounds and duct tape around her wrists in the 1300 block of Russell Avenue North in Minneapolis on Dec. 31 and was pronounced dead a short while later.

Four suspects have been charged in Baugh's death, so far:

Shante Cheriece Davis is charged with aiding an offender,
Cedric Lamont Berry is charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping,
Berry Davis is charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping,
Elsa Segura is charged with kidnapping.

Berry and Davis were also indicted by a grand jury on first-degree premeditated murder and kidnapping charges, and on attempted first-degree murder charges in the shooting of Baugh's boyfriend.

Criminal complaints state Baugh was abducted on New Year's Eve while showing a home on the 8300 block of Niagara Avenue in Maple Grove. The complaints say shortly after Baugh arrived at the home at about 3 p.m., a U-Haul van pulled up to the house and two men abducted Baugh. Later that day, a U-Haul van arrived at Baugh's home. The complaints say a masked gunman entered the home and shot Baugh's boyfriend multiple times.

An hour later, officers responded to the 1300 block of Russell Avenue North in Minneapolis after a ShotSpotter report. Baugh was found with multiple gunshot wounds and duct tape around one of her wrists. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
