Alex Jokich

Previous Experience

Alex joined 5 Eyewitness News in October of 2018. Before moving to the Twin Cities, she worked at TV stations in Michigan. She was the morning anchor at WWTV in Traverse City/Cadillac, MI and spent many years as a reporter at WWMT in Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo, MI. She also interned at stations in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Awards

Alex has won multiple awards during her time as a journalist, including a Regional Emmy for ‘Best Documentary,’ an Edward R. Murrow Award for ‘Excellence in Social Media’ and a Michigan Association of Broadcasters Award for ‘Best Investigative Story.’

Education

Alex grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She graduated magna cum laude from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Sociology.

Personal Interests

Alex loves to explore new places and can’t wait to check out the best that Minnesota has to offer! She also enjoys playing tennis and running – and has run two marathons in recent years.  Alex also likes to be connected to her community and has long been a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
