After the practice session, Wild head coach Dean Evason said Eriksson Ek will be in the lineup Friday for the first of back-to-back, home-and-home games against Chicago.
Spurgeon is expected to start the home game on Saturday, if his progress continues.
Goalie Cam Talbot has also re-joined practice this week, but Evason indicated the team is being more cautious about Talbot’s return.
The Wild will need to be healthy after the NHL’s revised schedule leaves them with a jam-packed slate running from mid-February through the end of the season.
