Vikings select Georgia safety Lewis Cine in 1st round of 2022 NFL Draft

After trading down from the 12th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings took Georgia safety Lewis Cine with the final pick of the first round.
The traded their first and second round picks (No. 12 & No. 46 overall) in the 2022 draft to Detroit for a first, second and third round pick (No. 32, No. 34, No. 66).
Cine was a junior for the National Champion Bulldogs and played 15 games for Georgia last season. He was named the Defensive MVP in their win over Alabama in the National Championship Game. Cine made 73 tackles, one interception and nine passes defensed last season.
It’s the first time the Vikings have selected a safety in the first round since Harrison Smith in 2012.
