Wild defenseman and captain Jared Spurgeon was skating with his teammates on Monday and looks to be on the road to recovery. Spurgeon has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since the Florida game on Nov. 20.
Head coach Dean Evason wasn’t available for comment since Monday’s skate was optional. Teammate Kevin Fiala said it was great to see Spurgeon and Mats Zuccarello back on the ice.

Zuccarello got dinged up and left the game early against the Jets last week. Zuccarello didn’t play against the Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday, but appears to be doing better.
The Wild have won three straight games. Cam Talbot has been solid in goal, recording five straight wins and limiting opponents to two goals or less during that stretch.
The Wild find themselves in first place in the Western Conference at 14-6-1.
The Wild host Arizona on Tuesday.
