State of Hockey sends four teams to NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Tournament

Once again The State of Hockey will be well-represented at the NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Tournament with Minnesota State, Minnesota, Minnesota-Duluth, and St. Cloud State all making the tournament.
The Minnesota State Mavericks (35-5-0) are the No. 2 overall seed in the field and will face Harvard (21-10-3) in the opening round of the Albany, New York region. The game is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start on Thursday.
After losing in the Big Ten Tournament championship game, the Minnesota Golden Gophers did not earn a top-seed in a regional. Instead, the Gophers (24-12-0) will face the defending national champion Massachusetts Minutemen (22-12-2) in the first round of the Worcester, Massachusetts regional. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start on Friday.
The Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (21-15-4) are heading west to Loveland, Colorado, for their first round game against Michigan Tech (21-12-3). The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start Thursday.
A year ago, St. Cloud State made it to the national championship game. This season, the Huskies (18-14-4) open the tournament against Quinnipiac (31-6-3) in the Allentown, Pennsylvania regional. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start on Friday.
With all four teams from Minnesota in different regions, there is the possibility of an all-Minnesota Frozen Four.
