Schmitz, Ibrahim named All-Americans by AP

Two University of Minnesota standout football players have received another honor.
Monday, center John Michael Schmitz and running back Mohamed Ibrahim were named All-Americans by the Associated Press. Schmitz landed on the First Team while Ibrahim was a Second Team selection.
The two have received numerous honors and recognition throughout the season, including All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America and the Walter Camp Foundation.
Schmitz and Ibrahim were also both named First Team All-Big Ten, making it the third time in the past four years the Gophers have had multiple players named to the conference’s First Team.
Ibrahim is also a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year. He was also named a Third-Team All-America selection in 2020.
