Pine City girls hockey team makes history winning its first ever game 8-1

Pine City High School girls hockey team celebrates its first win in school history with an 8-1 win over Prairie Centre. After playing on shared teams with Chisago Lakes or Cambridge, the girls hockey players at Pine City High School have their own team.

Malia Mikyska of Pine City will be a trivia question forever in the Pine City community when someone asks, who scored the first goal in school history. Mikyska scored in the first period to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Pine City eighth grader Jennae Szucs scored to make it 2-0 Dragons.

The Dragons offense was on from the opening tip, they scored six goals in the first two periods. Senior goaltender Jordan Millam played a magnificent game only allowing one goal in the third period.

The team finished with eight goals and won 8-1 over Prairie Centre.
