The second annual Matt Dumba Hockey Without Limits Camp was held on Monday morning at the Guidant John Rose MN Oval in Roseville. The camp was designed by Dumba to bring more diversity and inclusion to the game and help provide more kids the opportunity to play hockey.
Nearly 200 kids participated in the camp from the Herb Brooks Foundation, The Hendrickson Foundation, New Directions Youth Ministry, Hockey is for Me, Minnesota Unbounded, DinoMights, ACES, Minnesota Special, and Blind Hockey with Minnesota hockey coaches running the program.
“This is something that I’m so happy to be a part of. I enjoy giving kids the opportunity to try new things and hopefully this program will continue to grow the sport of hockey,” said Wild defenseman Matt Dumba.
The Minnesota Wild are currently on a four-game road trip in Canada, but since Dumba is out with a lower body injury, the Wild’s loss was the kids gain.
“Normally I’m not able to be involved in this camp, but since I can’t play with the injury I currently have, it’s great to be with these kids and see them having so much fun,” Dumba added.
