Minnesota United to host Everton FC for international game

Soccer fans will have a chance to see an English Premier League club play in Minnesota later this summer.

Minnesota United announced Tuesday morning that it will be hosting Everton Football Club later this summer at Allianz Field.

The game will be played on Wednesday, July 20 at 7 p.m.

“To say I’m excited would be an understatement,” former Everton forward and current MNUFC Head Coach Adrian Heath said. “Everyone knows my feelings towards the club, the best thing that happened in my football life was playing for Everton. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to Minnesota. It will be a great occasion at Allianz Field, and I know we will have incredible fan support. They have an unbelievable traveling fanbase and I’ve no doubt they will bring their voice to Saint Paul. It’s an honor to host one of the premier clubs in world football.”

Tickets for the match go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 23. Presale will begin on May 19, with Itasca Society Members and season ticket members having early access starting at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. respectively.

Other international teams visiting Minnesota this year include Paderborn in July, as well as the MLS All-Star Game in August.
