Lynx activate Aerial Powers, release Layshia Clarendon
Friday, the Minnesota Lynx announced guard Aerial Powers had been activated and the contract of Layshia Clarendon had been terminated.
Powers had been out since May 26 with a left hamstring strain.
The six-year veteran signed with the Lynx this past offseason and appeared in three games for Minnesota before her injury, averaging 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.
Clarendon, in their ninth WNBA season, was signed by the Lynx on May 30. She played in four games with Minnesota, averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. She also played one game with the New York Liberty this season before arriving in Minnesota.
The Lynx also announced forward Rennia Davis will miss the rest of the season with a left foot stress fracture while forward Jessica Shepard is out indefinitely with a mild adductor strain.
