Gophers women’s basketball game postponed
The Gophers women’s basketball game against Northwestern on Friday, December 31, at Williams Arena has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Northwestern program, the University of Minnesota announced Monday.
Both programs are working with the Big Ten Conference to find a rescheduled date for the game to be played.
Fans are able to exchange tickets for any other future Gophers women’s basketball game.
The Gophers next scheduled game is now January 6 on the road against Rutgers.
Citing the health and safety of student-athletes, our fans and staff, the Minnesota women’s basketball game on Friday, December 31, at Williams Arena will not be played due to COVID-19 protocols within the Northwestern program. Both programs are actively working with the Big Ten Conference to find a rescheduled date to play the game.
Per the Conference office, information regarding how this game will be treated in relation to the Big Ten Conference 2021-22 Forfeiture Policy will be announced in the coming days.

Minnesota will ring in 2022 with a Jan. 6, matchup with Rutgers on the road. That game can be streamed on B1G+ and heard, as always, on KFAN+ with Justin Gaard and Lynnette Sjoquist on the call.
