Minnesota Golden Gophers Volleyball head coach Hugh McCutcheon has announced this will be his final season at the U of M but the team is staying focused on the season.

McCutcheon will not discuss the reason for his departure until after the season. He has lead the Gophers since 2011 and has a record of 265-71 with three Final Four appearances under his leadership.

Gophers student athletes have cherished his guidance on and off the court.

“You learn so much with him just about the game,” Gophers senior C.C. McGraw said. “He’s so knowledgeable but also he shows genuine care for you as a human and your development outside your sport. He wants to prepare you for life outside of college. That’s something that separates him from a lot of other top-tier programs.

The Gophers next games are against the Iowa Hawkeyes on October 19th at 6PM and against Purdue on October 22nd at 8PM.
