Gophers topple No. 3 Michigan 2-1 in overtime
Ben Meyers’ overtime goal gave the 11th ranked Gophers men’s hockey team a 2-1 over No. 3 Michigan Friday night at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
The Gophers trailed 1-0 until freshman Matthew Knies sent the game to overtime with a goal 15:17 into the third period.
Gophers goaltender Justen Close made 26 saves.
The Gophers and Wolverines square off against Saturday in Minneapolis.
