Gophers to host DePaul in Gavitt Tipoff Games
The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team will host a Big East foe this fall.
Friday, the program announced that it will face DePaul at Williams Arena on Nov. 14 as part of the 2022 Gavitt Tipoff Games.
It will be Minnesota’s fourth appearance in the Gavitt Tipoff Games, which features eight Big Ten-Big East matchups.
Now in its seventh year, the series honors Hall of Famer Dave Gavitt, who founded the Big East.
The Gophers are 2-1 in the series, with wins over St. John’s in 2016 and Providence in 2017 and a loss to Butler in 2019.
All-time, Minnesota is 8-10 against DePaul, with their history dating back to 1933. Their last matchup came on Nov. 29, 2019, when Minnesota hosted the Demons and fell 73-68.
