Gophers men’s hockey seeks revenge this weekend vs. Minnesota State Mankato

The Gophers men’s hockey team has seen their season end two years in a row against Minnesota State Mankato. In other words, revenge is on their minds this weekend as the two teams will meet in the regular season for the first time since 2018.
The Gophers are ranked second in the USCHO poll, with the Mavericks ranked fifth.
KSTP Sports attended Gophers practice this week and spoke with coach Bob Motzko and forwards Rhett Pitlick and Matthew Knies.

The Gophers got goals from eight different players during a series sweep of Lindenwood last weekend, the opening weekend of the season.
Game one of the action gets underway from inside 3M Arena at Mariucci Friday night at 7 p.m. The series finale is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato for the Mavericks’ home opener.
