Gophers men’s hoops ready for Big Ten Tournament after last place regular season finish

The 14-seed Gophers open up Big Ten Tournament play Wednesday night in Indianapolis vs. 11-seed Penn State. The teams split their regular season series.
Coach Ben Johnson, along with players Jamison Battle and Payton Willis met with reporters Monday afternoon on campus.

The Gophers are 20-22 all-time in Big Ten Tournament games. They finished the regular season 13-16, 4-16 in conference games.
Penn State is 12-16, 7-13 in Big Ten games.
Even in a year with a last place Big Ten finish, there were positives. The Gophers rank 12th nationally in fewest fouls committed (410) and rank 2nd in the Big Ten and 4th nationally in fewest turnovers (271).
