Gophers beat Buckeyes 5-1 to complete weekend sweep

Rhett Pitlick scored twice as the Gophers men’s hockey team beat Ohio State 5-1 Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

Blake McLaughlin, Mason Nevers and Sammy Walker also scored as Minnesota extended their winning streak to a season-high four games.

Justin Close made 29 saves pick up his seventh win of the season in net.

The 7th-ranked Gophers visit the Penn State Nittany Lions next Friday and Saturday.
