Gophers add 33 to football program on National Signing Day

The University of Minnesota added 33 new players to its football roster on Wednesday, which is National Signing Day.

The group includes 16 offensive players, 15 defensive players and two special teamers. Additionally, 11 of the 33 are from Minnesota, with other commits from Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Michigan, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Canada.

By position, the Gophers added two quarterbacks, two running backs, five wide receivers, two tight ends, five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, five linebackers, six defensive backs, one long snapper and a punter.
