Last time there was an NCAA softball postseason, the Gophers advanced to the College World Series for the first time.
That run to Oklahoma City in 2019 preceded the halted 2020 season.
So, the Gophers are looking to make it – technically – back-to-back trips to the CWS this season as they begin the NCAA Regionals this weekend.
Playing exclusively within the Big Ten Conference, the Gophers finished second to Michigan during the regular season.
The Gophers (29-11) play Fresno State in the first game of their double-elimination NCAA Regional in Los Angeles that also includes UCLA and Long Beach State.
