The University of Minnesota officially introduced Keegan Cook as the new head coach of the Gophers volleyball program on Monday at Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis.
“I believed in my heart that the student athletes here in Minnesota deserved someone who shared the same aspirations as them and would take the same level of risk and courage as them to reach them.” Cook said during his introductory press conference.
Cook was the head coach at Washington for eight seasons, leading them to four Pac-12 championships and eight trips to the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies reached the NCAA national semifinals in 2020.
“We’re here to win a National Championship but how we win and who we win with matters,” Cook said on Monday.
The Gophers previous head coach, Hugh McCutcheon, announced he was stepping down in October and is now the Gophers assistant athletics director/sport development coach.
