Investigation into alleged misconduct involving Proctor High School football players
Proctor Public Schools has confirmed with Hubbard Broadcasting’s sister station, WDIO, that an investigation is underway involving their high school football team. No other details are known as of Wednesday morning.
Superintendent John Engelking provided the following statement on the matter:
"Proctor Public Schools has been made aware of student misconduct on the Proctor High School football team. The Proctor Police Department is currently investigating the misconduct with the full cooperation of Proctor Public Schools. At this point, the specific allegations and the nature of the complaint are not public data. Because student data is protected under the Minnesota Data Privacy Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and we can’t comment further on the investigation."
According to the school’s Twitter account, a game is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. against Aitkin High School. No update as since been provided if the game will go on or not.
Proctor Police Chief Kent Gaidis said they are seeking more information from the public.
"The more witnesses that come forward, the faster we can have a resolution for our side and the school," he wrote in an email to WDIO.
If anyone has information concerning the football team, they are asked to call police at 218-624-7788.
