2 people shot in south Minneapolis Saturday night

Minneapolis police responded to a shooting that hospitalized two people near 37th and Chicago.
Police were alerted by ShotSpotter activations and multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 3700 block of Chicago Avenue South at about 8:48 p.m. Saturday night.
One man was treated for potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds when officers arrived, according to the news release. He was then taken to the hospital by paramedics.
Officers were advised that another man arrived at Hennepin Healthcare to be treated for gunshot wounds related to the 3700 block shooting. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
Investigators believe the incident involved the occupants of two vehicles that exchanged gunfire.
A large police presence was also seen at the intersection of 41st Street and Clinton Avenue for reasons believed to be related to the shooting, according to MPD.
