Wild-Red Wings game postponed
The Minnesota Wild’s game against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, December 23rd at Xcel Energy Center has been postponed after the Red Wings organization was shut down through the holiday break due to a continued COVID spread.
The Wild had two games postponed last week – Tuesday against Carolina and Saturday against Florida – due to outbreaks within the Hurricanes and Panthers organizations.
Minnesota is still scheduled to play a road game against the Dallas Stars on Monday.
On Sunday, the NHL announced the league will continue to play out the regular season schedule despite a rise in COVID-19 cases within teams. The league and the NHL Players Association continue discussions on whether or not to have NHL players compete in the 2022 Olympics. They expect to have a final decision in the coming days.
