UPDATE: Hwy 7 weekend closure in west metro postponed for 2nd week in a row
The Minnesota Department of Transportation released an update Thursday that, for the second week in a row, work planned on Highway 7 eastbound between Excelsior and Deephaven has been postponed.
The work was previously rescheduled to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11.
It has now been rescheduled again to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18.
The work will affect drivers traveling around the Minnetonka area.
A detour route is expected to be in place using southbound Highway 41, eastbound Highway 5 to westbound County Road 101.
The closure is due to construction and the Highway 7 Shorewood to Minnetonka project.
The intersections at Christmas Lake Road, Old Market Road and Vine Hill Road are also closed until they are fully paved.
