Timberwolves part ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Wednesday that they are parting ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas.
No explanation was given on the move. The Timberwolves provided the following statement on the update:
"Today, the Minnesota Timberwolves parted ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas. As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of."
Rosas was hired by the team in 2019.
Sources told KSTP Sports that current vice president Sachin Gupta will be the interim president of basketball of operations. He becomes the first person of Indian origin to run a basketball organization. The team later confirmed that when owner Glen Taylor released the following statement:
"Given the leadership changes announced earlier today, Sachin Gupta will assume basketball operations oversight while remaining Timberwolves Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. We are committed to staying aligned to achieve our short-term goals and reach our long-term vision."
