Taser used on 13-year-old who got physical with Apple Valley police

An officer used a Taser on a 13-year-old and arrested the boy after he got physical with police outside an Apple Valley Walmart.

Apple Valley Police said officers responded to the Walmart just off Cedar Avenue and 150th Street around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in regards to a missing person report.

As officers were interviewing a teen who was reported missing, a second 13-year-old boy jumped into the situation and got physical with an officer, police said.

A Taser was discharged, and the teen was taken into custody.

Police said charges against the teen are being considered by the Dakota County Attorney's Office.
