Authorities in St. Paul say the death of a man who was found unconscious Monday night in downtown St. Paul came after the man attempted to rob someone.
Sgt. Mike Ernster, with St. Paul Police, said during a press conference Tuesday that the 52-year-old man allegedly tried to rob a 49-year-old man but the 49-year-old fought back.
Witnesses confirmed to police that the 52-year-old intimated a hangun to the victim as he attempted to assault him. However, no firearm was found at the scene.
A long fight happened between the suspect and victim who works at a nearby church. A group of employees from the church held the suspect down until police arrived.
