St. Paul police say a man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in the city’s Frogtown neighborhood.
The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Thomas Avenue and Grotto Street, according to St. Paul Police Sgt. David McCabe. A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS camera captured evidence markers and shell casings in the area.
Officers responding to the shooting found a man who had been shot twice, McCabe said. Medics took the victim to the hospital, but he did not survive.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim Wednesday as 24-year-old Marcus Darnell Miller, from St. Paul.
This marks the 29th homicide in St. Paul this year, according to the St. Paul Police Department.
