So Minnesota: ‘Homemade Pie Capital of Minnesota’
From apple to peach, many love a good piece of pie. One Minnesota town can thank pie for helping put them on the map.
Braham is called the “Homemade Pie Capital of Minnesota.” In 1990, after enjoying fresh baked pie at the Park Cafe, Gov. Rudy Perpich gave Braham the sweet title.
“We were lucky enough to be able to house the declaration up on our wall, so that is part of our loved history here,” Park Cafe owner Alicia Masters said.
The town embraced the title celebrating every August with Braham Pie Day. People from all over the country and world come to the Park Cafe for pie.
“It makes me feel good that people kind of see this as a destination,” Masters said.
Park Cafe started serving pie in 1946 and quickly became the perfect place for people headed up north to their cabins.
