Police: Investigation reveals woman found dead in St. Paul was assaulted day before in Brooklyn Park
Tuesday, St. Paul Police reported an investigation into a homicide in the North End neighborhood has revealed the woman found dead Sunday was assaulted the day before in Brooklyn Park.
St. Paul police found the woman Sunday on the 1500 block of Jackson Street. Police had responded to the area on a report of a possible drug overdose and were led to the basement of a residence in the area where the woman was found dead.
Police said the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the woman’s death a homicide.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for a home in Brooklyn Park. There, they said they found evidence leading them to believe the woman "had been assaulted by her domestic partner, which resulted in her death," the Brooklyn Park Police Department reported.
In the update Tuesday, St. Paul police said Brooklyn Park police will now take the lead on the investigation.
As of Monday, no arrests had yet been made in connection with the case.

Homicide investigators were able to determine the victim found deceased on Sunday Feb. 21, in the city’s North End neighborhood, was assaulted the day before in Brooklyn Park, MN. Brooklyn Park Police Department will be taking the lead on this investigation.
