Police are investigating a death Monday morning in north Minneapolis.
Minneapolis police said someone reported finding a body near N. 35th Avenue and 4th Street, in the city's McKinley neighborhood, at about 7:15 a.m.
According to police, officers arrived and found a man's body, which displayed some signs of trauma.
"We started out our homicide team on something like this — not always because it will be a homicide, but we have one attempt, one try to get as much evidence as we can before we release the scene and it gets contaminated by the public," said John Elder, Spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department.
Elder said part of the investigation will be to determine whether the person died in the alley or was moved there.
The death is being considered a homicide for the time being, but police are still gathering evidence.
Police asked anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
