1 dog dead, 1 dog missing following overnight St. Paul house fire

Fire officials say one dog has died and another is missing following an overnight house fire in St. Paul.
According to the St. Paul Fire Department, crews were called to the 1800 block of Mechanic Avenue East shortly before 5:30 a.m.
Officials say fire was found in the basement of a 2 story, single family home.
The two people who were home at the time of the fire were able to safely escape.
No one else was injured during the incident, which is being investigated.
