90 statewide crashes, multiple highways closed or considered impassable in western Minnesota
There were 90 crashes statewide Friday morning as a mix of sleet and snow moved into the state, according to an update from the Minnesota State Patrol Friday.
Seven of those crashes, reported between 5 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., caused injuries. None of the crashes were fatal. There were also 112 vehicle spinouts, the state patrol reported.
The agency reported another 112 vehicles spun out or went off the road, and nine semis had jackknifed.

The state patrol also reported several roads in west-central Minnesota remained closed due to dangerous conditions.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says travel is not advised for parts of northwest Minnesota.
Earlier, at about 9 a.m., multiple roads between Fergus Falls and Fargo were listed as “impassable”, as well as one roadway near Grand Forks.

According to MnDOT District 2, Highway 2 is closed from Crookston to North Dakota, while Highway 200 is closed from Ada to North Dakota.
Earlier in the day, the state patrol issued a no travel advisory on I-94 between Barnesville and Rothsay, saying there were at least a dozen vehicles and semis in the ditch or median.
Authorities said there could be more due to the limited visibility.
The State Patrol said statewide Thursday, there were 87 crashes and 105 vehicles that spun out or went off the road, as well as five jackknifed semis between 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
