No injuries reported in 3 separate Brooklyn Park fires
Firefighters had a busy afternoon and evening in Brooklyn Park Sunday, as crews responded to three separate fires in the city within nine hours.
Around 8:30 p.m., crews were called to the 8000 block of Morgan Circle for smoke coming from a home, and firefighters found flames inside the home.
Officials say mutual aid was brought in from the West Metro, Brooklyn Center and Osseo fire departments, and after a second alarm was called, Fridley and Osseo also assisted. Maple Grove was paged to help cover calls within the city.
Fire officials say no one was injured during the fire, which took about two hours to be brought under control.
The cause is still being investigated, and the Red Cross was also brought in to help the residents.
Earlier in the day, crews were called to a garage on the 8100 block of Xerxes Avenue just before 1 p.m.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames. No residents or firefighters were reported injured at that scene. As of this time, the cause of that fire is still being investigated.
Another fire happened just before 5:45 p.m. on the 7900 block of Lee Avenue.
As crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the windows, as well as a grease fire in the kitchen, which they were able to quickly put out.
That fire was determined to be unintentional.
